Sustainability at the Heart of All We Do
The University of Bristol A Cappella Society recognises that sustainability isn’t just about combatting negative environmental impacts; it encompasses a whole range of environmental, economic, and social issues.
To be sustainable, a society has to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Being sustainable, at its core, is about making the world a better place and this is why sustainability is one of our core values. We are committed to reducing our social, economic and environmental impact both locally and globally.
Economically, we aim to invest our funds sustainably so that both current members and future members can benefit from our expenditure in the present.
Socially, we aim to create a fair, safe, and equal environment (see our equality statement) so that the society develops an ethos of inclusivity that will continue for years to come.
Environmentally, we aim to reduce our environmental impact on the planet through increased reliance on digital platforms, reducing waste, and increasing awareness throughout our members.
Outside the society, we aim to support and increase awareness of sustainability causes throughout all we do and actively work to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals that apply to our practice.
